Ok, so I’ve been looking at putting out an application for tenpacesanddraw and realized that I really don’t think my portfolio is strong enough for it yet. So I’ve resolved to spend the next two months trying to improve my composition, backgrounds, color theory, perspective, everything as much as I can! A couple of people chimed in and said they’d like to try too so I thought it would be nice to make this a community thing!

Basically, we’re setting a deadline two months in the future, November 11th, 2012. Between then and now, work as diligently as you can to improve as much as possible.  We’re not looking for speed, what we want is to all really improve on the bones and meat of art and work on making our portfolios stronger. At the end of the two months, even if you don’t end up doing anything specific with your portfolio, you’ll hopefully have improved in some way!

One of the best ways to improve is to get dedicated critique from a like-minded community that is focused on learning! Hearing from peers and those of a more advanced skill level can help immensely. So I’m proposing that everyone tag works that they would like critique on with the tag “#two month challenge” I’ll at least be tracking it and offering critique as often as I can, and I hope other people will join in with me!
